OTTAWA — Franklin County commissioners voted Wednesday to hold a public hearing at 6 p.m. Aug. 11 on their budget. County administrator Lisa Johnson said the budget for next year is the same as this year and represents no additional spending. At a mill levy of slightly more than 56 mills, the county tax levy would show a decrease of a little under a mill. However, the appraiser’s budget was moved into the county levy and because of the merger of the Franklin and Osage counties’ Extension offices, the 1-mill Extension mill levy was taken out of the county budget and will be listed separately, she said.
