OTTAWA — As temperatures zoom into the triple digits and the humidity turns tropical, the Ottawa electric utility’s power output could get close to record levels today. Ottawa utility director Jim Bradley said the city is buying electricity and generating its own to meet the needs and so far, is keeping up with demand. You can help reduce the need for power by conserving electricity as much as possible, he said. That includes turning off lights and other energy-using equipment, and doing laundry early in the morning or in the evening outside of peak electrical use, he said.
