OTTAWA–Two Ottawa men held in the Franklin County Jail in connection with a stabbing death last week of another Ottawa man were in court this morning. A Preliminary Hearing for 44 year old John Balbirnie is set for September 10. He is held on a million dollars bond. A status conference for 23 year old Brandon Ellsmore is set for August 12, at which time the judge will consider a request to reduce his bond….which is currently $750,000. Both men are charged with the stabbing death of 24 year old Paul Duane Nicholson II.
