GARNETT — It was the band reunion that was never going to happen. But a reunion concert featuring the former rock band Clevermax happened recently at Scipio, drawing about 1,300 fans. Before Clevermax disbanded more than 20 years ago, the band was popular throughout the region. The former band members stayed in the area but had their own families and careers. However, the niece of former band member Larry Burkdoll set up a Bacebook page for the band and it was flooded with fans, Burkdoll told the Anderson County Review. Although some members hadn’t played since Clevermax disbanded, the Facebook page proved so popular, the band found it too hard to resist t a reunion concert. Besides Burkdoll, those who played for the reunion concert were Dave Bailey, Joe Savage, Bruce Peterson and David Wooge.
