LAWRENCE–A graduate of the University of Kansas in Lawrence is set to become the new President of Colombia. Manuel Santos will be inaugurated as President, succeeding outgoing President Alvaro Uribe. Santos graduated from KU in 1973 with degrees in Economics and Business. Columbia is in the northwest corner of South America, and has a population of over 45,000,000 people.
