WASHINGTON — Barry Grissom, Overland Park attorney who has specialized in civil rights cases, has been confirmed by the U.S. Senate as the next U.S. attorney for Kansas. He will be sworn in later this month. He will take over the office from Lanny Welch, who has served as acting U.S. attorney for a little more than a year. Grissom will lead an office of 49 assistant U.S. attorneys and 53 support staff working in offices in Wichita, Topeka and Kansas City, Kan.
