WASHINGTON — If you’re up the next few nights, look up. The Perseid meteor shower is early and it’s under way. Spaceweather.com says the shower peaks Thursday night and the best time to look is before sunrise Friday morning. This year, there will be dozens of meteors each hour. Spaceweather says because the crescent moon sets before midnight, this year should be good for meteor-watching. Spaceweather also urges you check the Thursday night skies after sunset – there will be a rare conjunction of the planets Venus, Saturn and Mars bunched closely together with the crescent moon.
