OTTAWA — Franklin County commissioners approved a budget for next year that will have a property tax cut of one mill. During Wednesday evening budget hearing, county administrator Lisa Johnson said she tried to cut costs without cutting services. Departments and outside agencies held their budgets for next year to no increases. Technically, the county’s mill levy is flat – because the county Extension agency merged with Osage County’s, that one mill was removed from the county levy and will show up elsewhere in tax statements, Johnson said.
