OTTAWA — It’s to the wood shed for two wooden sculptures at the courthouse. Ottawa Main Street’s preservation expert Bob Marsh says the sculptures of Ottawa historical figures George Washburn and Tauy Jones will be cut down, treated and then re-installed on new bases. He said the project will save the sculptures, which have been deteriorating in recent years. Marsh met with county commissioners Wednesday. Commissioner Ed Taylor said it never occurred to any one that the wooden sculptures would need more than normal maintenance. He said he was glad Main Street agreed to rehabilitate the statues.
