TOPEKA — The state’s soybean harvest will be down from last year. But that will still be very good. The Kansas Agricultural Statistics Service said the state’s soybean crop could be four percent lower than last year’s. However, because last year set a record for the state soybean harvest, that means that this year will be predicted to be the second-highest harvest in harvest. The Kansas Agricultural Statistics predicts the average state yield for this year’s soybeans will be 38 bushels per acre. Soybeans are the top cash crop for Franklin County.
