NEW YORK — One national financial reporter says the U.S. economic crisis isn’t the result of middle class Americans going on a credit binge or because a series of mistakes made by business and government leaders. Journalist, Internet blogger and filmmaker Danny Schechter said the current situation is a result of the perfect crime. An unholy trinity of the world’s largest financial, insurance and real estate companies deliberately decided to rip off the U.S. government and Americans and they apparently got away with it, he said. Schechter will discuss his book and film, both of which are called ‘Plunder: The Crime of our time’ on this Sunday morning’s Community Perspective at 8:04.
