BURLINGTON — A woman has been charged with animal cruelty in connection with alleged mistreatment of horses. The Anderson County Review reported the Coffey County sheriff seized about 80 horses from the Winding Road equine facility near Waverly on July 31. Witnesses described the horses as “walking skeletons.” Kristin Chambers, the director of the horse rescue organization, was arraigned last week on animal cruelty and neglect charges in Coffey County District Court.
