OTTAWA — The Ottawa Main Street Association invites you to talk about bringing more bicycles downtown. A public forum called “Bikeability” will be Saturday morning from 10 to noon in the city commission chambers. The forum is the second of a series designed to bring more people downtown and make it more attractive, said Bob Marsh, retired architect who is a member of Ottawa Main Street. The forum will try to brainstorm a list of possible improvements that would help make the downtown more bicycle-friendly, he said. More often, American cities are emulating European cities by trying to make their downtowns more accommodating to bicycle traffic, he said. Later this year, there will forums about “Streetscape and Landscape,” “Youth in Downtown” and “The Public Market.” For questions, contact Main Street at 242-2085 or visit the Web site at www.ottawamainstreet.org.
