COPENHAGEN, Denmark — A Danish scientist who has been a leading skeptic of global warming has changed his mind. A former member of Greenpeace, Bjorn Lomborg had enraged environmentalists by saying climate change wasn’t an important issue and that other problems deserved more money and effort. However, Associated Press reported that Lomborg now says that scientific data overwhelmingly shows that world is at its hottest point in recorded history. Climate change is an urgent matter and immediate action is needed, he said. However, environmentalists who felt the sting of his earlier arguments aren’t embracing his change of heart with open arms. They said he’s playing the media and that he took too long to convert.
