TOPEKA — State Treasurer Dennis McKinney said Kansas families of modest means can get help in saving for their students’ higher education by taking advantage of the “The Kansas Investment Developing Scholars” matching-grant program. The state will match up to $600 per year for those families who qualify and who save money under the program. Kansans can also use the Learning Quest education savings plan to accumulate money for higher education, he said. This month is “Higher Education Savings Month.” For more information, contact McKinney’s office at 1-800-579-2203, or www.kansasstatetreasurer.com.
