OLATHE — The Kansas Department of Transportation said the southbound lanes of I-35 near 135 and Santa Fe streets will be closed for several hours this morning. Investigators have closed the stretch of road for a criminal investigation, KDOT said. I-35 traffic is being detoured via Old US-56 until the roadway reopens. Drivers should avoid the area and use alternate routes, KDOT said. I-35 was closed early this morning as a result of what was described by the Kansas Highway Patrol as “a significant traffic incident.” Reporters said the incident involved a stabbing and apparently a body was pushed from a car onto the roadway.
