GARNETT — It’s been Groundhog Day, day after day after day for Jan Fagg of Garnett. And as he told Garnett city commissioners recently, it can’t end soon enough for him.
He said their burrowing has undermined buildings on his property on the edge of the city. They can’t be trapped or scared away, he said. The Anderson County Review reported that Fagg has asked commissioners for a special dispensation to use a small-caliber gun to shoot them. Citing safety concerns, commissioners refused. However, they told Fagg that the city animal control officer would be contacting him.
