OSAWATOMIE — A group of seven area men are planning a pool party. Make that a party for playing pool. The Anderson County Review reported that the team called Deep Pockets, who play pool at the Osawatomie sports bar and grill Flood Aone, recently won third place at a national pool tournament in Las Vegas. The team includes Daniel Feuerborn, David Feuerborn and Justin Roberts, of Greeley; Troy Rockers of Garnett; Nick Hampson and Chris Wilson of Osawatomie; and Ernest Marmon of Paola. Joshua Savage of Lane also is a member of the team but couldn’t make the trip to Vegas. The team had to beat the best teams in Miami and Johnson counties and then win a year-end tourney to win a spot at the nationals. The team didn’t expect to finish so high against the 700 teams taking part in the nationals. The team actually booked airline tickets to leave Begas before the national finals but had to cancel, Roberts said. Ironically, another Kansas team, Chumba’s All Stars, of Topeka, won. The Deep Pockets’ trophy is on display at the Flood Zone.
