OSAWATOMIE — Saturday’s Battle of Osawatomie at the Freedom Festival will be a re-enactment. The wedding that follows it won’t be. The Osawatomie Journal reported that Civil-War re-enactors Mary Beth Menold and Matt Walker, both of Morrill, will get married near the Adair Cabin after they take part in the battle. They have been re-enactors at the Freedom Festival before and decided they liked Osawatomie enough to get married there. He’ll wear a dress blue Union Army military uniform. She’ll wear a period wedding dress of light green with light green floral pattern with golden undersleeves. They’ll spend their wedding night around the campfire and in a Civil-War period tent.
