LYNDON – U.S. 75 will be closed next week for three days as contractors replace the railroad bridge just north of the K-31/K-268 junction. The Kansas Department of Transportation said that weather permitting, the highway will be closed at 6:30 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 21; and reopened late Thursday night, Sept. 23. The old railroad bridge will be taken down, the road embankments widened and a new pedestrian bridge installed, KDOT said. The nearly $890,000 project is being paid by federal economic stimulus funds. KDOT said you should detour via U.S. 56 while the highway is closed.
