TOPEKA – Gov. Mark Parkinson has ordered flags to be flown at half-staff from sunup to sundown Friday in honor of Capt. Jason McMahon of Mulvane. McMahon was member of a U.S. Army bomb disposal unit who died Sept. 5 of wounds he received from insurgents’ artillery fire in Jalalabad in Afghanistan.
