OTTAWA — The Ottawa City Commission accepted a Kansas Corporation Commission energy grant to replace the air-conditioning system at Ottawa Municipal Auditorium. City manager Richard Nienstedt said the grant will help solve the long-running air conditioning and ventilation problems at the auditorium. City management intern Casey Sharp, who pursued the grant, said the nearly $50,000 grant will pay more than half of the cost of replacing the system. The new system will use multiple small air-conditioning units rather than one large unit.
