LYNDON – U.S. 75 will be closed beginning Tuesday morning for three days as contractors replace the railroad bridge just north of the K-31/K-268 junction. The Kansas Department of Transportation said that weather permitting, the highway will be reopened late Thursday night. The old railroad bridge will be taken down, the road embankments widened and a new pedestrian bridge installed, KDOT said. The nearly $890,000 project is being paid by federal economic stimulus funds. Motorists should detour via U.S. 56 while the highway is closed, KDOT said.
