ABBOTT PARK, Ill. — Abbott Labs is recalling of some of its Similac infant formula in the U.S. and the Caribbean. Abbott said there is some evidence that some Similac may have been tainted with insect parts at one manufacturing facility. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration said that contaminated formula poses no immediate health risk, but infants could have some digestive discomfort. To find out if your formula is included in the recall, check the web site www.similac.com/recall or call (800) 986-8850. No Abbott liquid infant formulas are included in the recall.
