TOPEKA — Kansas has received a $250,000 federal high-speed rail grant. The Kansas Department of Transportation will use the grant to develop a Service Development Plan for Amtrak passenger rail service between Kansas City and Oklahoma City, and a potential connection to Fort Worth, Texas. KDOT will add $450,000 more for the planning. KDOT is looking at one of two options for expanding passenger rail service between Kansas City and Oklahoma City or Fort Worth.
