OTTAWA – The manhunt by Franklin, Anderson and Miami county and Kansas Highway Patrol officers near Greeley for a man wanted in the disappearance of an Ottawa teen has been suspended. Ottawa Police Lt. Adam Weingartner said the search near along railroad tracks at the Franklin-Anderson county line near Greeley was ended after officers couldn’t find the man after several hours of searching. The 15-year-old girl who disappeared was found safe in Wilson County Tuesday after she left Ottawa High School with a man, said Ottawa Police Chief Dennis Butler. She was found by Wilson County deputies near Fredonia. The Wilson County Sheriff’s Department is investigating a report from the girl of a sex offense, Weingartner said. Ottawa police are helping Wilson County with that investigation, he said.
