GREELEY — After a massive search near Greeley involving four separate law agencies a suspect in an Ottawa teen’s disappearance Tuesday remains at large. This morning, Ottawa Police Lt. Adam Weingartner said there are no immediate leads on the man’s whereabouts. The Anderson County Review reported that an Anderson County deputy provided security at Greeley Elementary School, which is near the search site, this morning. The paper reported parents said the school was locked down Tuesday during the search and the afternoon school bus from the school didn’t run and that Greeley parents were told to pick up their students at the school. The man in wanted in connection with an incident in which a 15-year-old Ottawa girl was taken to Wilson County. A spokeswoman for the Wilson County Sheriff’s Department is investigating the case but had little to say otherwise. The department isn’t ready to release a photo of the suspect, she said. She wouldn’t confirm that the department performed a rape examination on the girl but did say that the girl was treated at a Chanute hospital and was released. According to Ottawa police, the girl left Ottawa High School and left with the man. A Code Red Reverse 911 warning to residents in northern Anderson County described the man as a 37-year-old black man. He was driving an Allegiance Communications truck. The company gave Ottawa and Wilson County authorities full support in using GPS technology in identifying and tracking the truck, Bill Haggarty, CEO of Allegiance Communications. “Allegiance employees are subject to a thorough pre-hire screening process and company policy prohibits employees from carrying non-employee passengers in company vehicles.” he said. “Our support of this investigation will continue until all aspects have been satisfactorily addressed by law enforcement and our communities.”
