WICHITA — Youngsters from Baldwin City and Spring Hill exhibited two of the champions at the recent Kansas Junior Livestock Show at the Kansas Coliseum in Wichita. Taylor Stanley received the reserve grand champion award for a 147-pound market lamb. Taylor’s entry bested 219 lambs. Billy Slyter of Spring Hill showed the reserve grand champion registered breed ewe. That entry was selected from 158 ewes. Several franklin county youngsters also placed. Cody Webb of Pomona received second in a Shorthorn breeding heifer class. Tyler Webb of Pomona received seventh in a commercial breeding heifer class. Spencer Shoemaker of Ottawa received fourth in a Charolais breeding heifer class and fifth in a Maine Tainer breeding heifer class. Dakota Ferguson of Williamsburg received fifth in a Duroc market barrow class and eighth in a Yorkshire market barrow class. Jacob Bush of rural Quenemo received ninth in a crossbred market steer class. Wade Davis of Princeton received reserve champion in a dark AOB market barrow class and ninth in a Yorkshire market barrow class. Tristan Davis of Princeton received second in a light crossbred market barrow class, and sixth in a Duroc market barrow class. Megan Davis of Princeton received fourth and fifth in light crossbred market barrow classes. Cade Hibdon of Princeton received third and 10th in meat goat classes, and 10th and 13th in crossbred market lambs. Chad Hibdon of Princeton received 8th in commercial ewe lamb, 12th and 14th in meat goat classes, and 10th in crossbred market lamb.
