OTTAWA — The Ottawa City Commission has been cooking up a tax abatement for Keim’s Bakery which has just opened up downtown at 304 S. Main St. The Keims have completely redone the former Allegre’s Pharmacy into a bakery and coffeehouse. City manager Richard Nienstedt said the commissioners will vote on the abatement when they meet tonight at 7 at city hall. The abatement will offer a refund to the business on the new property taxes on a graduated basis over a 10-year period, he said. The county has approved the abatement and the school board will also vote on the abatement.
