TOPEKA – Gov. Mark Parkinson has ordered flags to be flown at half-staff throughout Kansas Friday from sunup to sundown in honor of Sgt. Justin Officer of Wwichita.
Officer, 26, a member of the 101st Airborne Division, died Sept. 29 from injuries he received from an improvised explosive device in Afghanistan. He is survived by his mother and father.
