OTTAWA–A Franklin County jury deliberated only three hours before finding Roger Shaw of Wellsville guilty of involuntary manslaughter while driving under the influence of alcohol.  Shaw was convicted in connection with an accident in July 2009 when his pickup truck collided with a motorcycle on a county road near Wellsville.  The rider, 21-year-ld Aaron Kichler of Ottawa, was killed instantly.  A blood alcohol test done on Shaw shortly after the wreck showed he had an alcohol rating of .11….which is above the legal intoxication rate of .08.  In closing aruments this morning, both defense and prosecution attorneys reviewed their version of the evidence presented at the trial.  County Attorney Heather Jones summed up her view of the defense case by simply saying “Garage In….Garbage Out.”  Sentencing for Shaw is set for Monday, Nov. 8, at 10:30.  Shaw could get up to 13 1/2 years in prison if given the maximum sentence.
