OSAWATOMIE — The Osawatomie Library reopened last week. Librarian Elizabeth Trigg told the Osawatomie Graphic that the nearly two-month shutdown of the library for a massive renovation was worth it. Using a federal grant, the city completely redid the library, made it more energy efficient, and made it more accessible to the elderly and those with wheelchairs. Trigg said that despite the long closing, the public seems enthusiastic about the changes. The city is seeking a $400,000 Community Development Block Grant for an addition to the library. The library has a good chance of getting that grant, she said.
