OTTAWA–Apples may sometimes be overlooked for the healthful fruit it is. Frontier Extension Agent Rebecca McFarland says apples are high in fiber and contain antioxidants which are good against cancer. If you want your apples to keep, better put them in refrigerator. Also, McFarland says it’s a good idea to do a little internet research on which apple varieties are best for eating and which are good for cooking.
