BALDWIN JUNCTION — Two men were taken to Lawrence Memorial Hospital as a result of a two-vehicle crash Tuesday morning north of the Franklin County line on U.S. 59. The Kansas Highway Patrol said Andrew Claas, 27, Leawood; was going south on U.S. 59 south of Baldwin Junction when he stopped to make a left-hand turn. Troopers say he was rear-ended by a car driven by Richard Johnson, 50, Lawrence.
Johnson was taken by private vehicle to the hospital. A passenger in Claas’ pickup truck, Cory Koster, 29, Overland Park; was taken by ambulance to the hospital.
