OTTAWA — The Ottawa City Commission and the Franklin County Commission approved an agreement Wednesday with Ottawa/Franklin County Economic Development. O/FCED helps recruit new businesses and industries to the area or helps existing companies expand. Commissioners said the money they spend on economic development is necessary for the economic health of the area. The city and county contract with O/FCED, which in turn contracts with the Ottawa Area Chamber of Commerce which serves as a contact for representatives from businesses and industries.
