LAWRENCE — The Lawrence-based Climate and Energy Project was recently featured in the New York Times. The Times notes that the Climate and Energy Project has been unusually successful in pushing its environmental goals in conservative Kansas with a bit of jiu-jitsu. The group has talked to people about the benefits of saving energy and reducing the U.S.’s energy dependence rather than talking about global warming or social issues, said Nancy Jackson, CEP executive director. Instead, Jackson’s group emphasized thrift, energy competitions among towns, creating green jobs and being good stewards of the world.
