TOPEKA–According to the Kansas Department of Labor, the unemployment rate has decreased. In a recent Labor Report, the state of Kansas’ employment rate gained over 1,000 jobs. This means that the unemployment rate is at 6.7%, a .3% decrease from last year. In Franklin County, the unemployment rate has decreased from 8.1% to 7.7%. Anderson County had the largest decrease from 8.3% to 6.7%. Douglas County went from 6.1% to 5.9%. Linn County also decreased from 9.2% to 8.5%. Finally Miami County decreased its unemployment rate from 7.3% to 7.1%. However, Osage County increased its unemployment rate from 7.1% to 7.3%.
