CAPE CANAVERAL, Fla. — An Air Force officer from Welda goes out to launch most days. First Lt. Eric Bunnel is a launch vehicle engineer with the Air Force’s 45th Space Wing, which oversees most rocket launches at Cape Canaveral Air Force Station in Florida. He helps coordinate launches among the Air Force, NASA and commercial space programs. He graduated from Kansas State’s engineering program.
