OTTAWA — The Ransom Memorial Hospital’s new digital mammography unit isn’t paid for but it’s already been put to work. The hospital’s charitable group is still raising the money to pay for the unit, said hospital CEO Larry Felix. The new unit has been testinging about 15 patients a day, he said. Doctors like the unit because it provides more quality and accurate images that can be manipulated to get better views and patients spend half the time for testing and can see the mammographs instantly.
