LAWRENCE — The Kansas Department of Transportation has received an $87,563 grant to improve and restore the Amtrak station in Lawrence. KDOT will work with the city of Lawrence on the preliminary engineering and final design for the improvements. The station is on Amtrak’s Southwest Chief route between Chicago and Los Angeles.
