MANHATTAN — World-renowned animal behaviorist and autistic Temple Grandin will speak at Kansas State University Tuesday night at 7. She was the subject of a recent Emmy-winning HBO movie. Grandin was diagnosed with autism, and her parents were told she should be institutionalized. Instead, Grandin developed an ability to see situations through the perspective of animals. She iss now one of the most innovative designers of livestock-handling equipment and she has now designed the facilities in which half the cattle are handled in the United States. Her lecture in forum hall at the K-State Student Union is free and open to the public.
