OTTAWA — Imagine more than 600 American flags waving in the breeze. The Healing Field of Flags remains on display at Forest Park through Thursday evening. The Field of Flags is a annual Veterans Day event. Ray Shumate is one of the volunteers keeping a 24-hour vigil with the flags. There are always people coming to see the flags and reflect at all times but not as frequently at night, he said.
