OTTAWA — It’s the home of the free land of the Braves and the Ottawa city commissioners want everyone to know about it. They saluted the Ottawa University football team’s appearance in the NAIA national playoffs Saturday afternoon. It’s the second straight appearance for the Braves and Braves head coach Kent Kessinger told commissioners Wednesday morning he wants to come back next year for yet another proclaimation. He thanked the city and lauded his players’ hard work. The Braves host Marian University in the opening round of the playoffs at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Peoples Bank Field, a matchup to be broadcast and video-streamed by KOFO.
