OTTAWA — Saturday is National Volunteer Day and Ottawa Volunteer Center director Lisa Rivers said that you and your family can do more than help others and benefit the community. When families do volunteer work together, children will see their parents helping others and provide a good model, while showing them that community service isn’t just something they have to do at school. Rivers asks that you and your family offer to help whatever causes you like. If you don’t know, she says you can call her at ECKAN and she’ll offer some suggestions.
