Baldwin City– The Baldwin USD 348 School Board of Education heard from patrons last week to express pro and mostly con arguments about closing two district elementary schools. The possible closings of Marion Springs and Vinland Elementary schools had 25 patrons for pro, con, and netural walked up to the podium to discuss their concerns. Those for the closing said that the district will have trouble with maintaining the schools’ renovations and an educational experience wouldn’t suffer if the consolidation occurs. Those opposing the closing said that the overcrowded rooms would be too much for teachers to handle.
