PAOLA — A man from Greeley and a man from Paola were killed last week in a crash in western Kansas during a hunting trip. Bernard Gilner, 62, Paola; and Dale Rausch, 63, Greeley; were killed near LaCrosse. The Rush County Sheriff’s Department told the Anderson County Review that a vehicle driven by Rausch was T-boned at an unmarked intersection. Daniel Stegman, 59, Bison; was driving east on a rural road when his vehicle struck the driver’s side door of Rausch’s vehicle, the department said. Rausch’s vehicle rolled into a ditch and came to rest on its top. Both Rausch and Gilner were pronounced dead at the scene. Stegman was taken to Hays Medical Center.
Funeral services for Glner were Monday in Greeley. Rausch’s funeral services were to be this morning in Paola.
