OTTAWA — Mid America Nutrition Program has just won $100 from an essay contest sponsored by Meals on Wheels Association of America and the Subaru “Share the Love” grant program. The Mid America essay describes how one volunteer makes a difference in one senior’s life. The winning essay will enter the next phase of the holiday competition – which relies on getting the most Facebook users to “like” the story. Winning that part of the contest could earn another $500. Mid America Nutrition plans to use the money to feed more seniors.
