GARNETT — There will be no traditional Friends of the Prairie Spirit Trail parade float for this year’s 40th annual Garnett Christmas Parade Saturday night. Instead, the group has opted to build a 50s-era diner with Christmas lights at Harris Park at the northwest corner of the square. The Anderson County Review reports that the group hopes that the display will catch on and more groups will add their own miniature buildings will be added in future years to create a Christmas-theme village. The diner’s lights will be glowing through New Year’s Day. The parade is Saturday night at 6:30.
