OTTAWA — For the second time, the Franklin County Commission tabled a request by Rural Water District 4 to build an entrance to a proposed water tower southwest of Ottawa. County administrator Lisa Johnson asked commissioners Wednesday to wait until next Monday’s study session. She said the request violates the county’s policy preventing new entrances being built too close to other entrances and the commissioners need some time to consider the ramifications of making an exception. And because the county didn’t receive the request until last week, the county staff needs more time to review it, she said. Butch Riddle, water district board member, pushed county commissioners to approve the request. Continuing delay will cost the district and slow down the tower project, he said.
