RANTOUL — Work on the Vermont Road bridge over the Marais des Cygnes River near Rantoul has been stalled by the weather, county public works director Jim Haag said. The deck slabs are done but the weather delayed the pouring of the hand rails, he said. A dirt contractor is waiting to do the final work on the embankments and approaches. The county is using mostly state and federal road money to replace the bridge.
